i carried out audience research at the start of my project. This feedback told me that me although i was creating a low budget music video i had to recreate/ replicate conventions of real media text in order to make it ascertainable what genre my music video is.

i carried out audience feedback before i completed my final draft as you can see in the video below:

This feed back from the audience research i done allowed me to highlight key features in my music video that could be improved like adding more locations and connecting my performers which i did by adding the acting sequence which also connected the narrative to the my music video

Research:
 
In my research i used Blogger to document my finding and used it as a point of reference. Blogger epically help me with organisation because i can add tags and place posts in order so it was easy to find everything.

i used Screen Grabs as a way of grabbing evidence or a caption of something to add to my blog. for example i used screen grabs to place a image of a email for track permision.                                                                                                                                                       

I used You Tube to upload moving images like my animatic and videos that used to see the convention

In what ways does your media product, use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

Throughout My Music video I use, develop and challenges the conventions of a music video. lip syncing  a convention of music videos


i decided to use lip syncing because all through challenging this convention has been done successfully in videos like Ed Sheeran - 'A Team' and 'you need me' it would require a high budget and it also wouldn't suite my genre of hip hop.

Montage editing is a essential convention of music videos because good music videos often combine seprate performance and acting shots which means the video would need to have monatge editing




there is some programmes which break these convention like lil wayne a millie, j cole whos dat these videos work because they are for artist which are used to high budgets and a level of creativty is being expected by the audience.

This advert clearly shows frames name which is very important to his success. it also shows that frame's album is out on the 24th of august 2013 and the name of it which allows readers of this advert to be able to find and buy this album. This advert also shows frames displaying his framing fingers which is also helping his branding and making him more memorable 

CD cover designs

We decided to create this design for are front cover because are artist's name is frame so we had the fingers in front of the camera in the framing style which film directors are famous for doing in the past. the title of the album is called tunnel vision we made the location a tunnel to coincide with the title so both ideas is almost to create like a visual metaphor.

This is the design for the back of the CD cover which has the track listing.  a convention of a hip hop CD covers is for the back to have similar designs as the front just possibly replacing the image of the artist with the track listing which is what we plan to do in this design here by placing the track listen on the tunnel background with the fingers framing the image.

This is for the extra panel which makes it a great opportunity to dhow a close up of the artist for face recondition purposes because the other images of he that was used are going to be medium/long shots.  

This is the design for the inside cover which is going to be were the CD is placed so its would be beneficial to place text there so a differently framed shot will be good for the album purchasers to to get to know the artist better.

this is a image of all of the CD cover designs attached. we decided to make our bottom three images to connect which is why we have both sides of the tunnel entrance either side of the the artist 'frame'. These three images go together to make up a larger version of the first image without the fingers framing. we decided to leave out the fingers framing to make it slightly different because the aim was not to replicate the the front cover.

i want my artists to appear to have bad attitude which is negative but is a convention of a hop hop artist. i want my artist to dress like a wealthy person with a good fashion sense would dress so a nice jacket like wretch 32 is wearing in the image above. i want my other artist to be wearing athletic clothing as he is going to be jogging which is the theme of the first verse. and  which this is a collage of images shows a variety of artists that our popular in UK hip hop music and manage to sell music which requires a them to have a image that i s sell able which is why i chose these pictures. This is the image i am planning to achieve in my music video this could be hard because these artist work with large budgets and we are making a low budget music but these is cheaper options that can appear the same on camera.

This is a video i made using Final cut and and Jing. In this video i show howhow to import footage into final cut express and how to cut footage.

Concept

The Concept we decided to use was a good morning for two different angles the first verse is a good morning where an artist goes jogging. The second is where an artist wakes up on a park bench after a crazy night clubbing. The two ideas are complete different types of good morning for different people but i think bringing them together could widen the interest in the music video and make it more original. 

song details

We chose this song by Scorcher featuring Wretch 32 and Kay Young titled 'Good Morning' because it is a vibrant English hip hop song. I also felt that a good concept for a video could be developed out of this song with the theme of a good morning being developed.

This is lyrics for 'Good morning', we looked at the different connotations behind each lyric and were possible tryed to illistrate them visualy with props or different locations.

This image below shows a rapper dressed in expensive clothes with a big chain and watch on which are all conventions of hip hop costumes/clothing i think this style clothing is suitable for the second verse of the song were the rapper is on his way home after falling asleep drunk on a park bench.

The image below is on a rapper acting as a athlete which is what we aim to portray in the first verse of the song were the rapper is going for a early morning jog which would be quite visually stimulating. 

The image below is of a speaker is what we are planning to use to play the song while shooting the music video to be able to lip synch it.
